I am Avradeep Munshi. I completed my graduation in History (Hons.) from Jadavpur University. Followed by pursued M.A in A.I.H.C and Archaeology from Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Insitute, Pune 2010 and recently in 2019, I completed the doctoral degree in archaeology under the guidance of Prof Vasant Shinde from the same university. My area of research interest is Medieval Archaeology with a special focus on understanding the interactions between landscape and archaeological sites. And my thesis was entitled as ‘Medieval Archaeology of Champaner Pavagadh and Surrounding Region; Gujarat’. The thesis examines the relevance and potentiality of settlement system studies in Medieval Archaeology with special reference to Champaner Pavagadh; Gujarat by providing an understanding that, how a core area namely a capital city or town in Medieval India irrespective of their political prejudices sustained, in support of its immediate landscape settings and subordinate areas. Along with doctoral dissertation I also participated in several excavation projects namely Karsola; (a late Harappan - PGW overlapped archaeological site), Rakhigarhi; (one of the largest site of Harappan Civilisations), Phupgaon; (an Iron Age habitation site). I presented and published research papers in various national and international forums and peer-reviewed journals like Heritage (Main Author), Cell (as a co-author), Anthropological Science (as a co-author), PLoS One (as a co-author) etc. respectively. Currently, I completed a small research project on Mason Marks of the monuments of Panchmahal district; Gujarat funded by the 'Devangana Desai Endowment Program' of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Mumbai
