Areas of expertise
My research focuses on settlement features and structures from the Middle and Late Neolithic between the Upper Rhine and the Mediterranean. My PhD project is primarily based on unpublished data from the site of Naters-Breiten (Valais, Switzerland), which was excavated as part of a rescue excavation between 2020 and 2022. My main objective is to develop new analytical methods for studying posthole plans. To achieve this, I mainly rely on GIS and methods originally developed for the study of lake-dwelling settlements. The primary aim of my work is to design an architectural model for Neolithic settlements in the Alpin region, covering the period from the 5th millennium to the middle of the 4th millennium BCE. In addition, I seek to gain new insights into building types, village organization, and settlement rhythms during the Middle and Late Neolithic in the Alps and neighboring regions.
