Areas of expertise
I am interested in culture-environment relationships during the Middle and Upper Paleolithic of Europe and pursue such research via the application of ecological niche modeling methods to the archaeological record. I received my PhD (2004) from the University of Kansas and my Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (2013) from the University of Bordeaux (formerly the University of Bordeaux 1).
After working as lead archaeologist of the State Historic Preservation Office for the State of Kansas, I came to France in 2005 and worked for a number of years as a post-doctoral and contractual researcher. I was hired by the CNRS in 2014 as a permanent researcher and belong to the PACEA laboratory, where I am currently a Research Director.
