Areas of expertise
After my undergraduate and masters studies in Archaeological Science at Bradford, UK, I completed my DPhil. at the University of Oxford's Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art (RLAHA) in 2010. My research interests focus on combining chemical analysis of materials, data science, and the theory of material culture. I have applied this unified approach to the history of copper alloy technology, particularly in Bronze Age Europe and Russia, and the Roman Empire. I have worked on several large collaborative projects, and am currently working on identifying markers of recycling and alloy design in Roman metals at the University of Reading.
